In the same week as that, Ubisoft has come out and said they want “no more DLC that gamers have to buy for the full experience.” However, this didn’t stop them from locking a difficulty option in Watch Dogs 2 behind DLC.

  1. “Banned for exploiting a bug.” That’s interesting, and I’ve heard of it happening before (particularly on blizzard games). I think it makes sense. Some will argue that it’s technically part of the game, but I think it clearly goes against the “spirit of the game,” which is very important when you have such a huge community built around your game. I can see there being a sort of “social contract” between players to only play in ways that seem “fair.” Do you need to prove that the exploitation was intentional rather than accidental?

    And I agree with Laura that the grinding in Pokemon felt different to me as a kid. Not annoying like in other games where you need to level up with random encounters. Not sure why though.
